Albion railway station was arailway station inEngland, built by theLondon and North Western Railway on theirStour Valley Line in 1852.[1] It served the town ofOldbury, and was located near to Union Road.
Opened by theBirmingham, Wolverhampton and Stour Valley Railway,[2] then absorbed into theLondon and North Western Railway, it became part of theLondon, Midland and Scottish Railway during theGrouping of 1923. The line then passed on to theLondon Midland Region of British Railways onnationalisation in 1948. The station was then closed by theBritish Transport Commission.
The station closed in 1960,[1] although theRugby-Birmingham-Stafford Line loop from theWest Coast Main Line still runs through the site of the station today.
There is little evidence of the location of the station on the ground today; Oldbury is now served bySandwell and Dudley railway station.
