Alberta Provincial Highway No. 53, commonly referred to asHighway 53, is an east–west highway of approximately 222 km (138 mi) incentral Alberta, Canada.[2][1]
From the west, Highway 53 begins atHighway 22 (Cowboy Trail) and ends atHighway 36 (Veterans Memorial Highway), passing through the communities ofRimbey,Ponoka,Bashaw,Donalda, andForestburg.[1] It crosses theMedicine River andBlindman River west of Rimbey, and crosses theBattle River three times between Rimbey and Forestburg (west of Ponoka, within Ponoka, and between Donalda and Forestburg). Highway 53 also provides access toBig Knife Provincial Park southwest of Forestburg.[1]
