Albert Socin (13 October 1844 inBasel – 24 June 1899 inLeipzig) was a Swissorientalist, who specialized in the research ofNeo-Aramaic,Kurdish and contemporaryArabic dialects. He also made contributions to the geography, archaeology, religion, art and literature of the Middle East.[1]
