Albert Dauzat (French pronunciation:[albɛʁdoza]; 4 July 1877 – 31 October 1955) was a French linguist specializing intoponymy andonomastics.[1]

Dauzat, a student ofJules Gilliéron, was a director of studies at theÉcole des hautes études.[2]
