TheAlbegna is a river in southernTuscany, the sources of which are located inprovince of Grosseto on the southern side ofMonte Buceto, the southwestern part of the volcanic cone ofMount Amiata, along with the northern side ofMonte Aquilaia, and theRiserva Poggio all'Olmo.
The river goes downstream initially heading south, passing first from the town ofRoccalbegna and moving later into the western part of the municipality ofSemproniano, downstream toRocchette di Fazio, and crossing theBosco dei Rocconi Natural Reserve. Soon after, it enters the town ofManciano and, near the village ofSaturnia, it turns right towards the south-west. Once it reaches the town ofMarsiliana, it forms the dell'Albegna plain.
The river flows into theTyrrhenian Sea near the town ofAlbinia, bordered on the north by thetombolo ofGiannella which combinesMonte Argentario to the mainland.
