Alata is arural commune in thecercle ofTidermène inMénaka Region of southeasternMali. The administrative centre (chef-lieu) is at Tedjerit.[2] The commune was created in 2001 by dividing the large rural commune ofTidermène.[3] The implementation ofMénaka Region in 2016 led to the promotion of Tidermène to acercle, and Alata was reincorporated into it. As of 2017[update] the mayor is Frataye Ag Etaw.[4]
