TheAlaska tiny shrew (Sorex yukonicus) is a species ofshrew. It isendemic toAlaska.[1]
This species was formerly included under the description of theEurasian least shrew (S. minutissimus).[1] It was described as a separate species in 1997.[2] It was named for theYukon River.[2]
This shrew occurs in central Alaska, and more recently it has been found in the southwestern part of the state. It always lives near rivers.[1]
This species has tricolored fur in varying shades of gray.[2]
