Products

[edit]

As Aladdin Systems, they originally developed exclusively forMacintosh, focusing on data compression and management utilities, such as theStuffIt family of compression utilities and theStuffIt InstallerMaker delivery suite, theShrinkWrap disk image utility, and itsSpring Cleaning system optimization utility.[9]

As Aladdin Systems, the company purchased theShrinkWrap disk image utility from Macintosh shareware developerChad Magendanz in 1996.[10][11]

As early as 1995, Allume began to release some elements ofStuffIt toWindows while not releasing the fullStuffIt for Windows until 2000.[9] StuffIt was later ported to bothLinux andSolaris in 2001.[9][12] Under Smith Micro, both Unix products have since been discontinued. By this time, Allume began to publish or distribute a full line ofgraphics, imaging, internet security, and utility software.[citation needed]

In response to the success of the popularmarine aquarium fishtank simulator, they have also released their own line of fish sims known as Aquazone.[13]
