Alabang ([alaˈbɐŋ]) is abarangay inMuntinlupa, Philippines. At one time, the area was a farming district and has since grown from a village to a major commercial center, includingFilinvest City, Madrigal Business Park, and a transportation hub. It has an area of 8.064 square kilometers (3.114 sq mi).[1] A large portion ofAyala Alabang came from Barangay Alabang.[2] It was the location of the Alabang Stock Farm.[3]

Alabang was formerly the cattle grazingpastures of thehacienda of the friars ofMuntinlupa.[4] It is named after the Alabang River that passes through the area, labeled as "Rio de Alban" in the1852 Coello-Morata Case Map.[5]
