Al-Salihiyah (Arabic:الصَّالِحِيَّة,romanized: aṣ-Ṣāliḥiyya) is amunicipality and neighborhood ofDamascus,Syria. It lies to the northwest of the old walled city of Damascus and about 2.4 kilometres (1.5 mi) southeast of theCitadel, at the foot ofMount Qasioun.[2] The quarter is famous as a resting place of venerated Islamic scholars, such as the mystic Sufi scholar and philosopherIbn Arabi and theHanabila Mosque. Further to the south, it also houses theSyrian Parliament building.
