Aktham ibn Sayfi al-Tamimi (Arabic:أكثم بن صيفي التميمي) (d.44AH) was a pre-IslamicArab orator,judge, sage and poet, mostly famous for his proverbs.[1] He was also known asQadi al-Arab (lit. Judge of the Arabs)[2]
Little is known about his life with certainty. He was born inNajd to the Usayyid branch of the tribe ofBanu Tamim and was one of the most influential men of his tribe. Aktham is regarded as one of themuʿammarūn; people known for their longevity.[3] His death occurred on 44 AH.[4]
