Akhil Bharatiya Ram Rajya Parishad (RRP, "All India Council of Ram's Kingdom") was an Indian Hindu nationalist political party founded bySwami Karpatri in 1948.[1] The RRP won threeLok Sabha seats in the1952 elections to the nationalParliament and two in1962.[2] In 1952, 1957 and 1962, it won several dozenVidhan Sabha seats, all in theHindi belt, mostly inRajasthan. Like otherHindutva-based parties, the RRP fought against the implementation of theHindu code bills in India.[3] The party eventually merged into theJana Sangh, the precursor to theBharatiya Janata Party.[3]
