Akçalı (Kurdish:Gezne,[2]Syriac:Geznā[3]) is a village in thecentral district ofHakkâri Province inTurkey.[4] The village is populated byKurds of the Pinyanişî tribe and had a population of 704 in 2023.[1][5]
Thehamlets of Eğercik (Palanis), Kanatlı (Reşankê) and Yeniyol (Brîman) are attached to Akçalı.[2][4]
George Percy Badger noted during his visit to the region in 1850 that the village had a population of 90Assyrian families, whileEdward Lewes Cutts deemed the village to be populated by Kurds in 1877.[3]
