Ahmad Sabri Ismail (born 11 May 1963 inAlor Setar,Kedah) is a formerMalaysian footballgoalkeeper who played most notably forKedah FA and spent a year forPenang FA. He retired from the game in 2000. Ahmad Sabri now the goal keeping coach atMalaysia Super League sideKedah FA. He popularly known asSobri by Malaysian football fans.
The peak of his career was during his period as Kedah andMalaysia goalkeeper in the late 1980s; during his time at Kedah in the early 1990s he won many medals including oneDivision 2 (1992) andDivision 1 title (1993), twoMalaysia Cups (1990, 1993) and oneFA Cup (1996). In 1998, He wonLiga Perdana 1 withPenang FA.[4]
His combinations withMohd Azraai Khor Abdullah (head coach) andMuhamad Radhi Mat Din (assistant coach) had earned Kedah with the double treble title.[5]
Sabri appeared for Malaysia in a1990 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Singapore.[6]
