Agasias (Ancient Greek:Ἀγασίας) was aStymphalian ofArcadia[1] who was frequently mentioned byXenophon as a brave and active officer in theArmy of the Ten Thousand.[2] He was an acquaintance of bothHiero I of Syracuse and Xenophon. In his youth, he achieved anOlympic victory, and hiredPindar to compose a song of celebration.[3] He was wounded while fighting against Asidates.[4][5]
