Afryka[aˈfrɨka] is avillage in the administrative district ofGmina Żarnów, withinOpoczno County,Łódź Voivodeship, in central Poland. It lies approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) north ofŻarnów, 10 km (6 mi) west ofOpoczno, and 65 km (40 mi) south-east of the regional capitalŁódź.[2]
In theinterwar period, it was administratively located in Gmina Machory in the Opoczno County in theKielce Voivodeship of Poland. According to the 1921 census, Afryka had a population of 93, entirelyPolish by nationality andRoman Catholic by confession.[3]
