TheAfghanistan cricket team toured Zimbabwe in December 2024 and January 2025 to play theZimbabwe cricket team.[1][2] The tour consisted of twoTests, threeOne Day Internationals (ODI) and threeTwenty20 International (T20I) matches.[3][4] In October 2024,Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) confirmed the fixtures for the tour.[5]

On 29 November, Zimbabwe Cricket rescheduled the series.[6]

Afghanistan also namedNasir Jamal,Ziaur Rehman, andMohammad Ibrahim as reserve players for the Test series.[13] On 17 December,Rahmanullah Gurbaz was ruled out of the ODI series due to a grade 2B quadriceps along with a hip flexor injury withMohammad Ishaq named as his replacement.[14] AdditionallyMujeeb Ur Rahman was rested from the ODI series due to recovery process from injury.[15] On 24 December,Rashid Khan was ruled out of the first Test due to his personal reasons.[16] 25 December,Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar andShahidullah were added into the Test squad.[17][18]

On 25 December,Takudzwa Chataira was ruled out of the first Test due to suffered from right-side strain during practice, withVictor Nyauchi named as his replacement.[19]
