Aegle (Ancient Greek:Αἴγλη "brightness" or "dazzling light") is the name of several different figures inGreek mythology:^[1]

• Aegle, one of the daughters ofAsclepius.^[2] Her name is said to have derived from "Αἴγλη" ("Aegle"), meaning "Brightness," or "Splendor," either from the beauty of the human body when in good health, or from the honor paid to the medical profession.^[3]
• Aegle, the most beautiful of theNaiads,^[4] daughter ofZeus andNeaera,^[5] by whomHelios begot theCharites.^[6]
• Aegle, one of theHeliades, a sister ofPhaeton, and daughter ofHelios andClymene.^[7] In her grief at the death of her brother she and her sisters were changed intopoplars.
• Aegle, one of theHesperides.^[8]
• Aegle, another name ofCoronis, daughter ofPhlegyas and lover ofApollo.^[9]
• Aegle, was a daughter ofPanopeus, thePhocian hero. She was said to be one who was beloved byTheseus, and for whom he forsookAriadne.^[10][11]
• Aegle, nurse of Dionysus^[12]
