Adriano Félix Teixeira (born 7 April 1973) is a Brazilian retiredfootballer who played as acentral defender, and is amanager.
Adriano was born inFortaleza,Ceará, and made his debut as a senior withFerroviário in 1992, inSérie C. The following year he moved to neighbouringSport, spending three full seasons inSérie A.
Adriano moved abroad in the 1996 summer, signing forLa Liga clubCelta de Vigo. He made his debut in the competition on 8 December, coming on as a first halfsubstitute in a 2–1 home win againstRacing de Ferrol.
Despite appearing in 20 matches duringhis first year, Adriano returned to his homeland in 1997 after agreeing to a one-year loan deal atFluminense. He returned to theGalicians in the following year, and appeared rarely before moving toSegunda División clubSD Compostela in January 2000.[1]
AtCompos Adriano established himself as a regular starter, scoring a career-best seven goals in2001–02 as his side achieved promotion fromSegunda División B. In 2003, aftersuffering relegation (his second at the club), he joined third-tier clubCultural y Deportiva Leonesa.
Adriano returned to Brazil in 2005, and subsequently representedVasco da Gama[2] andSanta Cruz, retiring with the latter in 2007 at the age of 34. In 2014, he returned to the latter, being appointed assistant manager.[3]
In 2016 Adriano was in charge of the first team during three times, all of them as an interim, following the dismissals ofMarcelo Martelotte,[4]Milton Mendes[5] andDoriva.[6]
