TheAdidas Argentum is a family and brand ofassociation football balls. Used as official match balls ofArgentine football championship, the Argentum balls, in order to distinguish them in their construction, have had the year of adoption in their names.

Before the adoption of the brand, as official match balls of the Argentine football championships were used variants ofAdidas Tango,^[1] ofAdidas Roteiro,^[2] ofAdidas Teamgeist^[3][4] andTerrapass,^[5] ofAdidas SpeedCell^[6] and ofAdidas Tango 12.^[7] However, the first real brand created forAFA wasAdidas Tafugo.^[8][9]

From 2014 to 2017 the line of Argentum balls adopted the technology developed withAdidas Brazuca.Adidas Argentum, used for2014 Argentine Primera División, had the same template of Adidas Brazuca, but with a bluish coloration.^[10][11] A silver variant,Argentum Derby, was used in theSuperclásicos of the same season.^[12][13]Adidas Argentum 2015, used for2015 Argentine Primera División, showed a bluish and black template, with the same shape ofAdidas Conext 15 balls.^[14][15]Adidas Argentum 2016, used for2016 Argentine Primera División, showed again a bluish decoration, but it adopted the same template as the balls that replaced the line started with Brazuca, which was first used forAdidas Beau Jeu.^[16][17]Adidas Argentum 2017, used for2016–17 Argentine Primera División and2017–18 Argentine Superliga, adopted the same template as the balls that replaced the line of Adidas Conext 15, which was first used forAdidas Krasava.^{[18][19][20][21]}

Between 2018 and 2021 the line of Argentum balls adopted the same technology ofAdidas Telstar 18. Adidas presented as official match ball of2018–19 Argentine SuperligaAdidas Argentum 2018, that showed pinkish lozenges and a sun-inspired yellow drawing.^[22][23][24] For2019–20 Argentine Superliga was usedAdidas Argentum 2019, that was decorated with a bluish variant ofAdidas Conext 19 pattern.^[25][26]Adidas Argentum 2021, the official match ball of2021 Argentine Primera División, was decorated with a colorful variant ofAdidas Uniforia andAdidas Tsubasa pattern.^[27][28][29] Another variant of the same pattern was used for the decoration ofAdidas Argentum 2022, the official match ball of2022 Argentine Primera División.^[30][31]

Since 2022 the balls adopted theSpeedShell technology developed forAdidas Al Rihla and its variants. The official match ball of2022 Argentine Primera División wasAdidas Argentum Gotán, that was decorated with a purple triadic pattern, that paid partially omage toAdidas Tango.^[32][33] Adidas announced as official match ball2023 Argentine Primera División and2024 Argentine Primera DivisiónAdidas Argentum 1893.^[34][35]
