Mackinnon made his he made his debut for County on 14 November 2020 in theScottish League Cup againstStirling Albion.[1] After returning from a loan spell with Brora Mackinnon made his league debut for County on 26 February 2022 in a 3–1 win againstSt Johnstone coming on forHarry Paton in the 90th minute.[2]

Loans

On 20 November 2020 Mackinnon joinedHighland Football League sideBrora Rangers ahead of the new season.[3] Mackinnon rejoined Brora on 30 August 2021 on a six-month loan from County.[4]

Mackinnon was loaned toScottish League One clubMontrose in the summer of 2022. He was recalled from loan on 27 December 2022 to be assessed by County managerMalky Mackay.[5] On 27 January 2023, Mackinnon would return on loan for theGable Endies until the end of the season.[6]

On 7 October 2023 Mackinnon was loaned toHighland League sideBrora Rangers till the end of the 23/24 season.[7]

In January 2024, Mackinnon joinedScottish Championship clubArbroath on loan until the end of the season.[8]
