Acharya Vishva Bandhu was an IndianVedic scholar, writer, educationist and the principal ofDayanand Brahma Mahavidyalaya, an institution under the management ofD. A. V. College Trust and Management Society.[1] He was best known for his contributions in fosteringVishveshvaranand Vishwa Bandhu Institute of Sanskrit and Indological Studies, anIndological institution founded by twosanyasins, Vishveshvaranand and Nityanand, in 1903.[2] He served as the director of the institution[3] and also contributed to the establishment ofLal Chand Research Library ofDAV College, Chandigarh.[4] He was the editor ofVedic Texto-Linguistic Studies andA Vedic Word Concordance, two treatises dealing with the textual and linguistic aspects of theVedas.[5] The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of thePadma Bhushan, in 1968, for his contributions to Indian education.[6]
