Saint Abran (Breton for 'Abraham'), was a 6th-century Irishhermit in Brittany.
Abran was born inIreland and was a brother ofGibrian.[1] Abran and Gibrain traveled toBrittany with their siblings. The five brothers and three sisters chose a life of devotion toGod inconsecrated religious life. Abran lived in ahermitage on theMarne River, which had been given to him bySaint Remigius.
Abran and his siblings are all consideredsaints for their positiveChristian influence upon theBreton people.
Saint Abran'sfeast day is 8 May on theWestern Rite Orthodox andRoman Catholic Church calendars.
