TheAbraham Pais Prize for History of Physics is an award given each year since 2005 jointly by theAmerican Physical Society and theAmerican Institute of Physics for "outstanding scholarly achievements in thehistory of physics". The prize is named afterAbraham Pais (1918–2000),science historian andparticle physicist; as of 2024 the recipient receivesUS$10,000 and a certificate citing the contributions of the recipient, plus an allowance for travel to an APS meeting to receive the award and deliver a lecture on the history of physics.[1]
