Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad (Urdu:سید محمد عبدالخبیر آزاد) is a Pakistani Islamic scholar who is the current chairman ofRuet-e-Hilal Committee,Pakistan.[1][2][3][4]
He is the son of Muhammad Abdul Qadir Azad who is the formergrandimam of famous Islamic heritageBadshahi Mosque situated inLahore,Pakistan.[5] He is thekhateeb ofBadshahi Mosque and was appointed as the chairman ofRuet-e-Hilal Committee on 30 December 2020 byMinistry of Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony,Government of Pakistan succeeding its long-term serving chairmanMufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.[6][7][8]
