Abdul Aziz Baloch (born 11 January 1986)[1] is a Pakistani formerfootballer who played as amidfielder.

Early life

Aziz was born on 11 January 1986 in theLyari locality ofKarachi. He started his playing career with local club Lyari Kickers, and later became part of a local Karachi club calledTanzeem Sports Gizri.[2][3]

Club career

Aziz initially started his career as aforward playing forNational Football Championship departmental sideSindh Government Press.[4] He then representedNational Bank from 2005 till 2019,[1] captaining the team in his last years.[5]

International career

Aziz earned his first senior international cap on 12 June 2005 which was the first game in a series of three games againstIndia, the game finished 1–1 draw.[6][7][8]

He was thevice-captain of theU-23 national team during the2004,2006 and2010 South Asian Games, where he helped Pakistan achieve the gold medal in the first two editions.[9][10] On 2004, he scored in the final againstIndia, where his goal in the 29th minute gave Pakistan a 1–0 victory.[11][12]

He was also vice-captain of the senior team.[13][14]
