TheAbbey of the Holy Ghost is a medievalproseallegory, ca. 1350–1375.[1] The text is preserved in at least 26 manuscripts, often followed by theCharter of the Abbey of the Holy Ghost.[2] The text advises lay women on how to live acontemplative life outside amonastery; the companionCharter speaks of thefall andsalvation.[3]
