TheAbbey of the Holy Ghost is a medievalprose allegory, ca. 1350–1375.^[1] The text is preserved in at least 26 manuscripts, often followed by theCharter of the Abbey of the Holy Ghost.^[2] The text advises lay women on how to live acontemplative life outside amonastery; the companionCharter speaks of thefall andsalvation.^[3]

The most recent editionThe Charter of the Abbey of the Holy Ghost, was released in 1975 byUniversity Microfilms International.^[4]
