
Aaltje Noordewier–Reddingius (néeReddingius; 1 September 1868,Deurne – 6 April 1949) was a Dutch classicalsoprano who had an active performance career in the concert repertoire from 1888 through the 1930s. She was also a celebratedvoice teacher.[1]
From 1886 to 1890, she studied at theConservatorium van Amsterdam. In 1893, she married painterMichiel Noordewier. She was a mentor to singers such asAafje Heynis,Erna Spoorenberg andLaurens Bogtman.[citation needed]
Main-belt asteroid677 Aaltje, discovered byAugust Kopff atHeidelberg Observatory in 1909, was named in her honour.[2]
