680 Genoveva is aminor planet orbiting theSun. It was named after the playGenoveva byFriedrich Hebbel.The name may have been inspired by the asteroid's provisional designation1909 GW, asW is pronounced 'v' in German, as isV in Latinate names such as 'Genoveva'.
