5 After Midnight, also known as5AM, were a Britishboy band formed in 2016 during thethirteenth series ofThe X Factor, were the last contestant eliminated finishing in third place.[2] Their debut single, "Up in Here" peaked at 51 on theUK Singles Chart.[3]

The group took part in the thirteenth series of the UK version ofThe X Factor. They competed in the "Groups" category mentored byLouis Walsh. In the finals, the group duetted withLouisa Johnson, where they performed hit singleTears. Eventually, they were the last contestant eliminated, being defeated byMatt Terry andSaara Aalto.

In 2017, they released their debut single "Up in Here".[4] Subsequently, the trio released their firstextended play,The Sauce, featuring a total of 4 tracks.[5]

2018–present: Dropped by Syco, Alleyne's departure

With the limited success that the band had, they were dropped bySimon Cowell's record labelSyco.[6]

In January 2018, Kieran Alleyne left the group to pursue a solo music career.[citation needed]
