Czech filmmakerMiloš Forman was the Jury President of the main competition.

TheGolden Lion was awarded to the Iranian filmThe Circle, directed byJafar Panahi.[2] American filmmaker and actorClint Eastwood was the recipient of theGolden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
