Kal Ho Naa Ho led the ceremony with 14 nominations, followed byKoi... Mil Gayawith 10 nominations andMunna Bhai M.B.B.S. andTere Naam with 8 nominations each.
Kal Ho Naa Ho earned 8 awards, includingBest Actress (forPreity Zinta),Best Supporting Actor (forSaif Ali Khan) andBest Supporting Actress (forJaya Bachchan), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony.[2]
Preity Zinta received dual nominations for Best Actress for her performances inKal Ho Naa Ho andKoi... Mil Gaya, winning for the former, her first and only win in the category.
