434 Hungaria is a relatively smallasteroid orbiting in the innerasteroid belt. It is anE-type (high-albedo) asteroid. It is the namesake of theHungaria asteroids, which orbit the Sun on the inside of the 1:4Kirkwood gap, standing out of the core of the asteroid belt.[3]

It was discovered byMax Wolf on 11 September 1898 at theUniversity of Heidelberg. It was named afterHungary, which hosted an astronomical meeting in 1898 inBudapest.[4]

It is thought that there may be a genetic connection between 434 Hungaria and3103 Eger and theaubrites.[4]
