32 Pegasi is abinary star [ 10] system in the northernconstellation ofPegasus . It is visible to the naked eye as a faint, blue-white hued point of light with anapparent visual magnitude of 4.81[ 2] The system is located approximately 560 light years away from the Sun based onparallax , and is drifting further away with aradial velocity of +11.4 km/s.[ 5]
The brighter member of this system, designated component Aa, has visual magnitude 4.83 with astellar classification of B9III,[ 4] matching alate B-type star with theluminosity class of agiant . It is spinning with aprojected rotational velocity of 60 km/s,[ 8] and is radiating 541[ 6] times theluminosity of the Sun from itsphotosphere at aneffective temperature of 11,403 K.[ 7]
The fainter secondary, component Ab, is of magnitude 8.86 with anangular separation of 0.50″ along aposition angle of 288° from the primary, as of 2005.Visual companions include component B, at a 70.7″ separation from the primary and magnitude 10.73; C, at a separation from B of 3.2″ and magnitude 12.4; as well as D (separation from A of 42.8″ and magnitude 11.9) and E (separation from A of 58.3" and magnitude 11.9).[ 3]
