301 Bavaria is a carbonaceous backgroundasteroid from the intermediateasteroid belt, approximately 53 kilometers (33 miles) in diameter.[2] It was discovered byJohann Palisa on 16 November 1890 inVienna.

301 Bavaria is classified as a carbonaceousC-type asteroid. It is spinning with arotation period of12.24 h.[3]
