3,3,-Diphenylcyclobutanamine is apsychostimulantdrug which was originally prepared as anantidepressant in the late 1970s.[1] It appears toinhibit thereuptake ofserotonin,norepinephrine, anddopamine, and may also induce theirrelease as well.[1] TheN-methyl andN,N-dimethylanalogues of the compound are also known and are morepotent.[1] All three agents producelocomotor stimulation in animal studies, with thetertiary amine being the strongest.[1]
