TheUnited States Air Force 's2nd Air Support Operations Squadron (2 ASOS) is a combat support unit located inVilseck , Germany. Thesquadron provides tacticalcommand and control ofairpower assets to theJoint Forces Air Component Commander andJoint Forces Land Component Commander for combat operations.
The2nd Air Support Operations Squadron trains, equips, and maintains mission-ready air liaison, terminal attack control, and weather observation and forecasting elements to support the commanders of US Army units, such as the 2nd Cavalry Regiment.
