GovernorMikie Sherrill was elected in2025 with 56.9% of the vote.[1] She is eligible to run for re-election but has not stated if she would do so.

Virginia

GovernorAbigail Spanberger was elected in2025 with 57.6% of the vote.[2] She isineligible to run for re-election as theConstitution of Virginia prohibits its governors from serving consecutive terms.

DemocraticSpeaker of the House of DelegatesDon Scott has publicly expressed interest in running.[3] FormerRepublicanAttorney GeneralJason Miyares has also expressed interest in running.[4]

Former Republican governorGlenn Youngkin is considered a potential candidate.[5]
