The2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup will be the tenth edition of theWomen's T20 World Cup, a biennialTwenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament played by women's national teams and organised byInternational Cricket Council (ICC). It is scheduled to be hosted byEngland in 2026.[1][2]
The tournament will be contested by 12 teams for the first time.[3]New Zealand are the defending champions.[4][5]
The 12 qualifying teams are divided intotwo groups of six teams; all the six teams in a group play once against each of the other teams in their group– for a total of fifteen matches – and the top two teams in each group advance to theknockout stage.[6]
In July 2022, the ICC confirmed the qualification process for the tournament. The hosts,England along with the top five teams from the2024 edition qualified automatically for the tournament.[7] The remaining automatic qualification spot was taken by the best-ranked team in theICC Women's T20I Team Rankings which had not already qualified, as of 20 October 2024.
