The2026 elections for the Florida Senate will take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to elect statesenators from 20 of 40 districts. TheRepublican Party has held a Senate majority since 1995.
Term-limited incumbents [ edit ] District 11 (special)[ edit ] On July 21, 2025, incumbent RepublicanBlaise Ingoglia resigned after being appointedChief Financial Officer of Florida .[ 1] A special election will be held on December 9, 2025.[ 2]
District 14 (special)[ edit ] On August 12, 2025, incumbent RepublicanJay Collins resigned after being appointedLieutenant Governor of Florida .[ 3] A special election will be held on a date TBD.
District 15 (special)[ edit ] On February 13, 2025, incumbent DemocratGeraldine Thompson died following complications from knee replacement surgery.[ 4] A special election will be held on September 2, 2025.[ 5]
District 19 (special)[ edit ] On November 26, 2024, incumbent RepublicanRandy Fine submitted his resignation, effective March 31, 2025, torun for Congress .[ 6] A special election was held on June 10, 2025.[ 7]
2026 Florida's 2nd Senate district election
The2nd district is located in the middle of theFlorida panhandle , containingBay ,Calhoun ,Holmes ,Jackson ,Walton , andWashington Counties, and part ofOkaloosa County.
The incumbent is RepublicanJay Trumbull , who was elected with 78.22% of the vote in 2022.
