• 2024 World Endurance Drivers' ChampionsPorsche Penske Motorsport withdrew from Hypercar amid a shift in focus toIMSA andFormula E.^[23] Despite plans fromRoger Penske,Christian Ried and FAT International's Ferdi Porsche to keep the963 in WEC,^[24] the customer No. 99Proton Competition car was a casualty ofPorsche's exit.^[25]

• Genesis Magma Racing, the racing division ofHyundai luxury brandGenesis, made its prototype debut with anOreca-built LMDh.^[26][27]
• Toyota Gazoo Racing reverted to theToyota Racing name, last used in2015, and renamed itsGR010 Hybrid asTR010 Hybrid as part of a bodywork update.^[5][28]

• Jenson Button retired from motorsport at the age of 45 after two seasons withJota Sport.^[29] After initial talks withMick Schumacher collapsed,^[30]Cadillac drafted inJack Aitken, anIMSA runner-up withAction Express Racing, to replace Button.^[31]

• Genesis recruited three-time Le Mans winnerAndré Lotterer and two-time IMSA championPipo Derani as the first two drivers for its Hypercar venture.^[10] It later secured the services of Alpine'sPaul-Loup Chatin and Porsche'sMathieu Jaminet,^[12] and promotedMathys Jaubert and former Mercedes-AMG and Corvette works driverDaniel Juncadella from itsTrajectory Programme.^[11]Jamie Chadwick, also a member of theIDEC Sport LMP2 stable, was named reserve driver.^[32]
• Alpine sawPaul-Loup Chatin leave for the new Genesis team andMick Schumacher head off toIndyCar withRahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.^[12][33] The Signatech-run outfit then signedAntónio Félix da Costa, a returnee to WEC after two years away inFormula E, and Formula 2 driverVictor Martins.^[13][15]
• Peugeot sawMikkel Jensen depart forMcLaren's future Hypercar effort andJean-Éric Vergne opt for a gap year.^[34][35] The latter paved the way forStoffel Vandoorne, who had left ahead of an expected move to Genesis, to eventually stay at theStellantis brand.^[21] Former Ferrari GTE Am racerNick Cassidy joined the team in conjunction with hisCitroën Formula E commitments, andThéo Pourchaire graduated to a full race seat after competing at the 2025 Bahrain finale.^[20][22] Vergne shared test and development duties with ELMS regularAlex Quinn.^[36]

LMGT3

• GT World Challenge Europe veterans Garage 59 took over as McLaren's LMGT3 partner, asUnited Autosports shifted focus to its 2027 top-class project.^[37]

  

• The Heart of Racing expanded within the Aston MartinProdrive fold, asRacing Spirit of Léman abandoned its one-car effort.^[3]
• Salih Yoluç brought his Racing Team Turkey squad back to the series, rebranding one ofTF Sport's Corvette entries.^[44]
• Iron Dames discontinued its WEC participation after 5 years amid financial woes for parent companyDC Racing Solutions.^[55]Manthey Racing subsequently took full control of Porsche's LMGT3 operations.^[52]
