2025 Detroit mayoral election ← 2021 November 4, 2025 (2025-11-04 ) 2029 →
The2025 Detroit mayoral election will be held on November 4, 2025, to elect the nextmayor ofDetroit, Michigan . It was preceded by a primary election which was held on August 5, in which the two highest-placing candidates would advance to the general election. Municipal elections in Michigan are officiallynonpartisan .
Incumbent mayorMike Duggan was eligible to run for re-election to a fourth term, but is insteadrunning for governor of Michigan in 2026 .[ 1]
