For the 2025–26 season, the Third league is divided in three geographical regions. Nine teams participate in the North,[1] twelve in the Center,[2] and seven in the South.[3] The new member of theMontenegrin Third League isIbar who got relegated from theMontenegrin Second League the previous season and they will participate in the Northern League this season.
Each team will play each other three times a season and depending on match schedule a team either plays 1 or 2 home games against a different team with the rest of the games being played away. At the end of the season the winners of each regional league will compete in a play-off against each other where each team will play each other once in around-robin format. The winners and runners up of the playoffs earn direct promotion to theMontenegrin Second League
