Defending championCarlos Alcaraz^[1] defeatedNovak Djokovic ina rematch of the previous year's final, 6–2, 6–2, 7–6^(7–4) to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the2024 Wimbledon Championships.^[2] It was his secondWimbledon title and fourthmajor title overall, becoming the sixth and youngest man in theOpen Era to complete theChannel Slam. Alcaraz was the second man in the Open Era, afterRoger Federer, to win his first four major finals, and the first man outside of theBig Three to defend a major title sinceGustavo Kuerten at the2001 French Open.^[3] This maked Djokovic's record-extending 37th major final.^[4]

The tournament featured 37 five-set matches, the most at a major in the Open Era, breaking the previous record of 35 jointly held by the1983 US Open and2024 Australian Open.^[5][6]Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard was the first lucky loser to reach the fourth round sinceDick Norman in1995.^[7]
