Ageneral election was scheduled in theU.S. state ofIdaho on November 5, 2024. Along with thepresidential election, all seats in both chambers of theIdaho Legislature were up for election, as well as both of Idaho's two seats in theUnited States House of Representatives.[2]Primary elections elections were held on May 21, 2024.

Republican candidateDonald Trump won in Idaho with 66% of the popular vote and gained fourelectoral votes from the state.

United States House of Representatives

Idaho has two representatives in theUnited States House of Representatives. Incumbent RepublicansRuss Fulcher andMike Simpson were both up for election, and they won their respective races comfortably.

Idaho Senate

All 35 seats of theIdaho Senate were up for election. Republicans managed to flipDistrict 15 and extended their lead to 29–6.

Idaho House of Representatives

All 70 seats in theIdaho House of Representatives were up for election. Republicans managed to flip districts 26A and 29B, extending their lead to 61–9.

Two statewide ballot measures appeared on the ballot.[3]

Constitutional Amendment HJR 5 (2024)

TheIdaho Constitutional Amendment HJR 5 sought to prohibit state and local governments from allowing non-citizens to vote in elections. It was approved 65%-35%.[4]

Proposition 1

TheIdaho Proposition 1 or theIdaho Open Primary initiative sought to establish top-four primaries and legalizeranked-choice voting for congressional, state and local elections. It was defeated 70%-30%.
