The2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup final, also known simply as the2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup,[5] was the final match of the2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup, an international clubfootball tournament. It was the first final of theFIFA Intercontinental Cup, aFIFA-organised tournament between the club champions from each of the six continental confederations.[6]

The match took place atLusail Stadium inLusail, Qatar, on 18 December 2024 between Spanish clubReal Madrid, the winners of the2023–24 UEFA Champions League, and Mexican clubPachuca, the winners of play-offs contested by the other five confederations.[7]

Real Madrid won the match 3–0 to win the inaugural FIFA Intercontinental Cup, which was also its sixth FIFA trophy and ninthclub world championship title.[8][9]

Route to the final

As the winners of the2023–24 UEFA Champions League,Real Madrid qualified directly for the final of the tournament.[6]Pachuca advanced as the winners of the play-off match, known as the FIFA Challenger Cup, played on 14 December 2024.[11][12]
