The2024–25 Regionalliga was the 17th season of theRegionalliga, the 13th under the new format, as the fourth tier of theGermanfootballleague system.

Format

According to the promotion rules decided upon in 2019, the Regionalliga Südwest and West receive a direct promotion spot. Based on a rotation principle, the Regionalliga Bayern receives the third direct promotion spot this season, while the Regionalliga Nord and Nordost champions will play a promotion play-off.[1]

Liga.Kickers Emden was promoted from the2023–24 Oberliga Niedersachsen,Werder Bremen II from the2023–24 Bremen-Liga andSV Todesfelde from the2023–24 Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein.

Promotion play-offs

The order of the legs was determined in a draw.[1] The matches were originally scheduled for 25 and 31 May, but sinceLokomotive Leipzig qualified for the final of the2024–25 Saxony Cup, they were instead played on 28 May and 1 June.[18]
