9 January – Gabonese presidentAli Bongo Ondimba namesAlain Claude Bilie By Nze as the new prime minister and head of government, replacingRose Christiane Raponda after Ondimba issued a presidential decree.^[1]

26 August –2023 Gabonese general election:
- Gabonese citizens vote for apresident and members of theparliament.^[2]
