The2023 Central Michigan Chippewas football team representedCentral Michigan University in the2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by fifth-year head coachJim McElwain and played their home games atKelly/Shorts Stadium as members of the West Division of theMid-American Conference (MAC).[1][2] They finished the season 5–7 and 3–5 inconference play[3]
The Central Michigan Chippewas football team drew an average home attendance of 16,350 in 2023.
On July 20, the MAC announced the preseason coaches poll. Central Michigan was picked to finish fourth in the West Division.[4]
