The2023 British Academy Television Awards ceremony was held on 14 May 2023 at theRoyal Festival Hall inLondon, to recognise the excellence in British television of 2022.[1] The ceremony was hosted by comediansRob Beckett andRomesh Ranganathan and broadcast onBBC One.[1]
The nominations were announced on 22 March 2023 alongside the nominations for the2023 British Academy Television Craft Awards.[2] The nominees forMemorable Moment, voted on by the public, were announced on 18 April 2023.[3]BBC One dramaThe Responder led the nominations with four, followed bySherwood,Derry Girls,Am I Being Unreasonable? andThe Traitors, all with three.[4]
Four programs won multiple awards:Bad Sisters,Derry Girls,I Am... Ruth andThe Traitors each won two awards.[5] Including theCraft awards,This Is Going to Hurt received the most awards overall with four wins, three craft awards plusBest Actor.[6]
